Lucknow: On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Krishna hoisted the national flag at the Uttar Pradesh Police Headquarters. The dignified ceremony was marked by patriotic fervour and a strong reaffirmation of duty, discipline, and service to the nation.
During the ceremony, the DGP administered an oath of duty and integrity to police officers and personnel, urging them to uphold the values of the Constitution and serve the people with dedication and honesty. Police personnel who delivered outstanding service in various fields were also honoured for their exemplary performance.

Addressing the gathering, DGP Rajeev Krishna extended heartfelt greetings on Republic Day to all officers and employees of the Uttar Pradesh Police. He paid tribute to the police personnel who laid down their lives in the service of the nation, saluting their supreme sacrifice and unwavering commitment to public duty.
The DGP said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh Police has been performing more effectively and professionally. He emphasized that ensuring a safe, secure, and dignified environment for citizens remains the foremost responsibility of the police force.

Highlighting key initiatives, Rajeev Krishna said that women’s safety has been strengthened through the Mission Shakti campaign, which has helped build confidence and security among women and girls across the state. He added that the police are taking continuous and strict action against cybercrime, adopting both technological and preventive measures to protect citizens in the digital space.
The DGP also stressed the importance of police welfare, stating that the well-being of officers and personnel is essential for an efficient and motivated police force. He assured that sustained efforts are being made to improve welfare measures alongside operational excellence.
The Republic Day event concluded with renewed resolve among the police personnel to serve the Constitution, maintain law and order, and contribute to a safer and stronger Uttar Pradesh.
